The Ordinance of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 81 dated March 1, 2022 “On measures to improve the system of working with families and women, support for the mahalla and the older generation”, and as a logical continuation of this Ordinance, - the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 146 dated March 2, 2022 “On the organization of the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs” opened up great opportunities, in particular for women.

Also, on the basis of the Ordinance of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 87 dated March 7, 2022 “On measures to further accelerate work on systemic support for families and women”, using a set of promotional materials (annotations, infographics, slides) prepared by the Ministry of Justice to promote the essence of these documents, on April 19, 2022, under the leadership of the Chairman of the Women’s Council of the “Silk Road” International Tourism and Cultural Heritage M.Abbasova, an expanded meeting was held at which the above-mentioned regulatory documents were discussed.

Mansurova N. (head of the Scientific Department of the University), Sidikova M. (head of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage), Khasanova N. (head of the Department of Planning and Development of the educational process), foreign teachers - Jusupova Erkaim from Kyrgyzstan and Maria Daghmenchi from Iran also expressed their a positive opinion about the support of women in our country.

On April 19, 2022, students of school №55 of the Pastdargom district visited the “Silk Road” University. The guests were provided with information about the activities of the university, its traditions, values and teaching staff.

The pupils were told that the university has created all the conditions for young people interested in tourism to study this area from the inside, to be able to replenish their knowledge base, in particular, using the unlimited potential of the extensive campus library.

It is worth noting that pupils of traditional and technical schools are invited to the “Silk Road” University on an ongoing basis, who get acquainted with the educational process and the life of university students, as well as with the Smart Campus infrastructure.

Experience - begins with practice

On April 19 of this year, faculty staff of the Department of Languages of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage held a practical lesson at the Ulughbek Observatory.

Practice is an integral part of the educational program of higher professional education. Thus, the students of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage began a week-long internship program on historical sites, which is carried out in accordance with the approved working curriculum and the schedule of the educational process, in order to provide students with professional skills, deepen and consolidate knowledge and competencies received in the course of theoretical training.

Students of schools and technical schools are invited to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage on a permanent basis, who get acquainted with the educational process and the life of university students, as well as with the infrastructure of the Smart Campus.

In particular, on April 19, 2022, students of school №55 of the Pastdargom district visited the “Silk Road” University. The guests were provided with information about the activities of the university, its traditions, values and teaching staff.

It is worth noting that the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the development of education, upbringing and science of Uzbekistan in the new period of development” dated November 6, 2021 became a vivid expression of attention to education. In particular, this document plays an important role in the development of cooperation between schools and higher education institutions, as well as in further strengthening the integration of educational institutions.

On January 19, 2022, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was held a video conference on the issues of radical improvement of the system of spiritual and educational work, strengthening cooperation between state and public organizations in this direction. At the meeting, special attention was paid to the issues of ensuring the sustainability of the socio-spiritual environment in the mahallas. 

It was announced that on the basis of the principle "Education is the engine of spiritual and educational progress", teaching staff and well–known intellectuals will be attached to each mahalla.

In this regard, on April 14 of this year, teachers of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, including Akmaljon Odilov, Sanzhar Dzhumanazarov, Sanzhar Mardonov and Yorkulov Mukhammadmurad visited the “Khozhakishlok”, “Tepakishlok” and “Talliota” mahalla of the Tailyak district of the Samarkand region, who took an active part in a seminar organized within the framework of the "Five Initiatives".

At the meeting with the general public, were discussed current reforms, including issues of youth support and public health promotion.

At the end of the event, the residents of the mahalla thanked the teaching staff of the “Silk Road” University and wished that such events would become regular.

From April 15 to 16 of this year, a special two-day training seminar was held at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage for all interested students and other interested persons.

This seminar was organized by the “Center for the Promotion of Economic Development of the Regions” by order of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. The seminar was useful for students who have their own startup projects and proposals for the development of the tourism sector in order to continue working in this field with excellent knowledge and skills in the future.

The purpose of these seminars is to open business incubators that provide special training and advice on the development of business plans for the search and development of young people with new business ideas in the field of tourism, as well as helping to attract investors or bank funds in business projects of young people who have successfully completed training in a business incubator.

The training took place on the following topics:

1. Formation of creative thinking and leadership qualities in the field of tourism;

2. Self-government in tourism;

3. Effectiveness of communication and organization of entrepreneurship in the field of tourism;

4. Tourism Management;

5. Legal basis of the organization of entrepreneurial activity in the field of tourism;

6. Privileges and opportunities in the field of tourism;

7. Tourism marketing;

8. Development of a business plan in the field of tourism.

Professional trainers were involved in the trainings, in particular the teaching staff of the Academy of Public Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, higher educational institutions, as well as specialists with many years of experience in the field of tourism.

On April 18, 2022, the 3rd year students of TOUR-119, PED-119 of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, led by tutor E. Sayfullayeva, visited a Nursing home in the city of Samarkand.

The purpose of the event was to educate students in moral qualities and charity.

The staff and wards of the Nursing Home welcomed the students with joy and warmth. During the visit, the children provided them with humanitarian assistance in the form of food, and the students quickly found a common language with the older generation: they told about themselves and listened to interesting stories from the past.

It should be noted that charity collections, visits to orphanages and nursing homes, and other events are held regularly by students of the “Silk Road” University.

By the Samarkand regional Department of the Agency for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and higher educational institutions, in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation "On the procedure for organizing and holding the League of the Samarkand Central KVN Club" on April 15 of this year, the final game of the season was held in the Youth Center of the city of Samarkand.

The teams of the "Silk Road» International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage (the "Tourist" team), the Samarkand State Institute of Architecture and Construction ("Maroqandlik bojalar"), Samarkand State University ("Ilkhom"), the Samarkand branch of the Tashkent University of Economics ("Economist"), the Samarkand Institute of Foreign Languages ("Translator") and the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service ("Uzbegim") took an active part in this event.

The “Tourist” team of “Silk Road” University, which took the honorable third place, performed well in this game and was awarded a diploma and memorable prizes.

On April 14, 2022, representatives of the US House of Congress and the US Senate, as well as the “UN Foundation”, paid an official visit to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

The purpose of the visit is to discuss cooperation issues and get acquainted with the UN Population Fund project on gender equality at the university.

At the round table, the parties discussed measures to promote a healthy gender policy at the university, gave the necessary instructions and advice.

A study tour was also organized at the university, during which the guests were introduced to the university's management model, halls with unique historical elements of the Great Silk Road, laboratories, the University's conference hall and a sports hall. The university library made a special impression.
