It is important to respect each other, overcome any difficulties together and achieve success.

Online negotiations with the UNWTO Academy

Representatives of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism recently held online talks with representatives of the UNWTO Academy and the Association of European tourism universities. The foreign side was represented by the Director of the UNWTO Academy O.Valdes, Deputy Director of the UNWTO Regional office for Europe P.Yaneh and UNWTO Academy staff L. Garner and S. Figuras.

The First Vice-rector prof. Eltazarov Zh. and the acting head of the Department for the development of international activities A. Kamilov said: "During the talks with UNWTO representatives, we discussed a lot of issues related to the resumption of work within the framework of the joint road map drawn up in 2018. The priority was to discuss the possibility of academic exchange of teachers and students between "Silk Road" IUT and leading European universities.

It was also noted that in order to provide the faculty and students of the University with open access to modern educational and methodological literature, it is planned to connect the University to the international electronic library UNWTO "E-library".

Another important part of the negotiations was the preparation of documents for obtaining the UNWTO TEDQual certification. At the same time, work continues to attract foreign specialists and experts to the training process, as well as establishing cooperation with such international organizations as TICA, DAAD, KOICA, Erasmus+, JICA, AHLEI, UNESCO».

The pandemic, lasting for several months, has negatively affected many areas of our daily lives. However, even in such challenging times, each organization continues its activities using all its capabilities.

Similarly, Silk Road International University of Tourism has not stopped its functioning for a single day. Based on the conditions of the pandemic, both educational and working process was implemented.

In early August, an interview was conducted on the admission of teachers to the faculty of the university. It was especially encouraging that among the applicants were highly qualified compatriots who had received education in prestigious foreign universities. It is necessary to note that in this situation it is possible to repatriate our compatriots working abroad.

Teachers who have successfully passed the interview will work on the basis of Syllabus in the subjects of the curriculum in accordance with international educational standards ISO9001-2015.The University curriculum is developed in accordance with international standards, fully complying with the requirements of international organizations. Within the disciplines, teachers are given academic independence and the opportunity to independently and creatively develop curricula (Syllabus). They have all possibilities to attract students to this world of science. The mission of teachers is not only to prepare students for exams or any subject, but to encourage curiosity, creativism, and decision-making skills in any situation. To enhance these skills, projects, presentations, and research on tourist destinations have been introduced in the format of Midterm.

The new academic year will start in a new contemporary building, where the university intends to relocate. The new building, which has the status of " Smart Campus", is being constructed and equipped according to the most prestigious educational establishments of the world. Undoubtedly, such high opportunities only motivate students to study, to work on themselves, to increase knowledge, to realize their potential. We believe that highly qualified professors and specialists will strive to raise the status of an international university and become worthy of this title.

The function of a higher education institution with international reputation in the field of tourism, unique not only in Uzbekistan but also in Central Asia, is invaluable in the development of the tourism industry, in popularization, promotion of the national brand. Given that tourism is a strategically significant sector of the economy, the value of our University is considerable. There is no doubt that our university will soon be the leader in training competitive highly qualified specialists in the field of tourism.

Preparing for entrance exams

The "Silk Road" International University of Tourism is actively preparing for the entrance examinations in the open air.

As previously reported, in a pandemic, the responsible ministries and departments were instructed to carefully prepare for the entrance exams. Due to the fact that the closed premises do not meet sanitary and hygienic standards, as well as social remoteness in terms of safety indicators, it was decided to conduct tests at the central stadiums of the capital and all regions. A total of 155 stadiums across the country were inspected, 40 of which were selected for exams.

On behalf of the governor (khakim) of the Samarkand region E. Turdimov, tests will be held at five stadiums in Samarkand. In particular, the open stadiums of the Lokomotiv football club, the children's and youth sports school No. 2 in Sartepo, the town of Kimyogarlar, the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, as well as the children's and youth sports school of the Olympic reserve in rowing in Samarkand were selected.

Within two days, the administration of the «Silk Road» University installed all the necessary equipment at the stadiums intended for testing, in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, and expressed full readiness to conduct the tests.

The entrance exams will begin on September 2 and will last 14 days.

First Vice-rector for internationalization and strategic development of the «Silk Road» International University of Tourism Prof. Eltazarov J.D. was elected as a corresponding member of the Higher Academy of culture, language and history named after Ataturk of the Republic of Turkey for services to the activities of this Academy at the national and international levels.

So, the President of the Academy, prof. Gurer Gulsevin congratulated Prof. Eltazarov J.D. joined the ranks of the Higher Academy of culture, language and history named after Ataturk and noted that there are positive dynamics of deepening Uzbek-Turkish relationship, strategic partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation, expanding cultural and humanitarian exchange, actively developing cooperation in the field of tourism. Friendly relations based on mutual trust between Uzbekistan and Turkey continue to be actively strengthened.

Note: The Higher Academy of culture, language and history was established on July 12, 1932 by the order of the First President of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. The goal of the Academy is to learn Turkish as well as analyze and identify the results obtained. During this period, many higher education institutions were established at the Academy to implement this goal. They have scientific committees, 20 of which consist of 40 permanent members elected by the Ataturk High Council for culture, language and history.
