Republican Olympiad in Uzbek language for international students

Republican Olympiad in Uzbek language will be held among international students studying at higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Olympiad is designed to assess participants’ knowledge and proficiency in Uzbek language, as well as their understanding of the national culture and heritage of Uzbekistan.

Participants will be assessed in the following areas:
Listening – understanding spoken Uzbek texts and conversations;
Reading– understanding and analyzing written texts;
Grammar – the correct use of vocabulary and grammatical structures;
Writing– writing an essay on a given or freely chosen topic;
Speaking – speaking and participating in a conversation on a freely chosen topic;
National and cultural knowledge – knowledge of the history, literature, traditions, customs, proverbs, and sayings of Uzbekistan.

The Olympiad will be conducted in two stages:
The first stage, the University Stage, will be held among international students at the university. Students who take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be recommended to participate in the Republican Stage.

The second stage, the Republican Stage, will be held among the winners of the University Stage at a designated host university determined by the Ministry.

Winners of the Republican Stage will be awarded 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree diplomas.

International students who are interested in participating are invited to register and take part in this academic event.
