From April 2 to 5, 2026, a delegation of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road” led by the Governor of the Samarkand region, A. Boboev, paid an official visit to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, and held a high-level meeting with the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia, Dato Sri Tiong King Sing. During the bilateral negotiations, issues of developing cooperation in tourism and education, exchanging experience, and implementing joint projects were discussed.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation members also actively participated in the Uzbekistan–Malaysia Business Forum 2026. During the forum, a separate space was allocated for our university, where a detailed presentation was delivered about its activities, educational направления, and opportunities for international cooperation.
As a result of productive dialogues with representatives of leading tourism companies of Malaysia, agreements were planned in the following areas:
• organizing internships for students in hotels and tourism companies in Malaysia;
• expanding international experience opportunities for students through the “Work and Travel” program;
• attracting Malaysian youth to Uzbekistan through educational tourism.
In addition, the delegation actively participated in the MATTA Fair with a special university stand.
The visit will continue in Indonesia from April 6 to 9.
