On March 30, 2026, a prestigious delegation consisting of members of the European Parliament visited the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road”. The guests were welcomed by the rector of the university, Muhsinjon Kholmukhamedov. The main purpose of the visit was to closely ознакомиться with the university’s scientific and pedagogical activities, particularly the projects implemented within the flagship program of the European Union – Erasmus+, as well as to establish more sustainable cooperation in the future. Guests were provided with detailed information about the educational processes organized by the university, research in the preservation and development of cultural heritage, as well as academic mobility, exchange of experience, and innovative educational programs implemented based on European Union grants.
The delegation members were particularly impressed by the university’s active position in the international arena, its systematic approach to integrating youth into the global educational space, and the practical results achieved through Erasmus+ projects. The main objectives of the visit included expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, developing more joint projects, and deepening educational and cultural exchange between Uzbek and European youth. A notable part of the visit was the open dialogue held between members of the European Parliament and university students. Students received answers to their questions regarding parliamentary activities, strategic directions of cooperation with Uzbekistan, and opportunities to participate in international exchange programs.
The visit of the European Parliament delegation to the university serves not only as high recognition but also as a solid foundation for future global projects.
