On 20 May 2026, the Department of Languages and Global Studies at the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage organized an environmental cleanup campaign at the historic Afrasiab settlement within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals course for the 2nd year students of International Relations.
The initiative, organized under the theme “Students for Climate Action” aimed to promote environmental awareness, civic responsibility, and sustainable development among youth. During the activity, students collected waste, cleaned public areas, and discussed the importance of environmental protection and community engagement in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The campaign highlighted the active role of young people in protecting cultural heritage sites and contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future. Students emphasized that even small local actions can create a positive global impact through responsibility, cooperation, and leadership.
