Position Title: Tutor

Educational Requirement: Higher education (Master’s degree required).

Field of Specialization: Tourism, Finance, Law, and Social and Humanitarian Sciences. Additional evaluation points will be awarded to candidates who graduated from higher education institutions included in the TOP-1000 international rankings.

Work Experience: Candidates must possess at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of education, including a minimum of 2 years in a pedagogical position.

Foreign Language Proficiency: Proficiency in Russian and English languages is required. English language proficiency must be confirmed by an IELTS score of at least 5.5 or a CEFR B2 level certificate issued by the State Testing Center or another authorized body.

Computer Literacy: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), excellent command of office software, and the ability to effectively use the internet and social media platforms are required.

Tutor Position Responsibilities:

Candidates for the position of Tutor must possess a thorough understanding of the regulatory and legal documents relevant to the field of higher education. Within higher education institutions, one full-time tutor position is allocated for approximately every 120–150 students, reflecting the systematic reforms and institutional opportunities consistently introduced within the higher education sector.

The term “Tutor” is derived from the English language and refers to an individual who performs the functions of a mentor and academic advisor. Beginning on September 1, 2021, following the abolition of the “group mentor” institution responsible for student affairs, specialists working with students and youth were reorganized and appointed as tutors.

In essence, the tutor serves as a key facilitator ensuring the effective integration of students into the educational system. Tutors support students in realizing their academic and personal potential throughout the educational process, fostering self-awareness and personal identity, broadening their aspirations and worldview, and developing the ability to consciously manage their academic and social activities. In addition, tutors assist students in making informed and responsible decisions regarding their conduct, personal development, and professional growth. Tutors also help students understand the consequences of their actions and identify effective pathways toward achieving their personal and professional goals.

The effectiveness of a tutor’s work is measured by the enhancement of students’ intrinsic motivation for learning and by the transformation of education into a more meaningful and productive process. In this regard, the effectiveness of the educational and developmental process within the higher education system is ensured through close cooperation among faculty members, students, and tutors.
