To ensure the implementation of Clause 103 of the Action Plan No. 01-16-241 dated April 21, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an educational tour was organized in cooperation with the Urgut District Administration for professors, staff, and students of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage “Silk Road”.
During the tour, participants visited pilgrimage sites, historical and cultural landmarks, handicraft centers, and mountainous areas of Urgut District. They became closely acquainted with the tourism potential of Tersak tourism village and Sovg‘on village, including their rich historical and cultural heritage, traditional handicrafts, natural landscapes, green areas, and local entrepreneurial activities.
Participants also explored greenhouse farms and exchanged views on rural tourism development and entrepreneurship. Meetings were held with owners of guest houses in Tersak village to discuss tourism services, hospitality practices, and the tourism opportunities of the mountainous regions.
As a result of the visit, participants enhanced their practical knowledge of tourism villages, pilgrimage destinations, guest house activities, and local business initiatives in Urgut District. The event also contributed to strengthening cooperation between the university and regional organizations while promoting sustainable tourism development and cultural heritage preservation.
