International Press Tour "Samarkand – A Platform for Dialogue Among Youth and Media Representatives of Sister Cities" Held in Samarkand
On June 30, an international press tour titled "Samarkand – A Platform for Dialogue Among Youth and Media Representatives of Sister Cities" was held in the city of Samarkand at the initiative of the Sister Cities Alliance.
The event brought together the winners of the "Do You Know Samarkand's Sister Cities?" competition, representatives of mass media, international students, young people, and representatives of relevant organizations.
As part of the press tour, participants visited Samarkand's historical and architectural landmarks, explored its rich cultural heritage, modern infrastructure, and tourism potential. They were also introduced to Samarkand's sister-city relations with more than 30 cities worldwide, as well as ongoing joint projects and youth exchange programs.
During the event, the international educational potential of the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, its modern academic programs, and the opportunities created for international students were presented. This presentation contributed to strengthening the university's international partnerships within the framework of the Sister Cities Alliance and enhancing its reputation among young people abroad.
At the conclusion of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Sister Cities Alliance.
Under the memorandum, the parties agreed to organize presentations of the university at international events held abroad, promote the university's activities in sister cities, attract the children of compatriots living overseas to study at the university, and develop cooperation in other promising areas.
This memorandum will further strengthen international cooperation in higher education, enhance the university's international reputation, and contribute to the development of academic exchange.
