On June 3, 2026, in order to ensure the implementation of the Resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-135, aimed at the rapid development of the country's tourism potential and further increasing the number of local and foreign tourists, and No. PQ-269 “On Measures to Improve the System of Personnel Training in the Tourism Sector,” a scientific and practical conference entitled “Pilgrimage, Handicrafts and Foothill Tourism: Traditions and Modern Approaches” was organized in the Tersak Tourism Village of Urgut District.
The event was attended by tourism researchers Khusen Ibragimov, Dilrabo Mardonova, Rogelio Flores, Erkin G‘ulomxasanov, Shafaq Shakir, as well as guesthouse owners and entrepreneurs.
The purpose of the conference was to enhance the knowledge and skills of local guesthouse owners and tourism sector representatives, support community-based tourism initiatives, and introduce modern tourism approaches.
Participants received practical information on pilgrimage tourism, handicrafts, foothill tourism, quality service provision, digital marketing, and sustainable tourism. Opportunities for promoting the Tersak Tourism Village were also discussed.
