On September 28 of this year, an International online conference on the topic “Problems and prospects of tourism development in the SCO countries” is being held at the “Silk Road” University of Tourism, dedicated to the International Tourism Day.

The conference was organized by the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, together with the Center for People's Diplomacy of the SCO in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The conference was solemnly opened by the Deputy Prime Minister, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, Mr. Aziz Abdukhakimov, who emphasized the timely discussion of the restoration of tourism among the SCO countries, and the strategic importance of educational, sports, cultural and humanitarian relations between the countries on the organization's agenda.

Representatives of such countries as Russia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan took an active part in the conference.

During the event, the participants actively discussed the development of multilateral cooperation of the SCO member states in such priority areas of humanitarian cooperation as culture, education and tourism. During the meeting, the parties discussed the impact of the coronavirus on the development of the tourism industry in the SCO countries. Special attention was paid to the issues of International declarations and agreements.

Following the results of the online meeting, the participants agreed on cooperation and further cooperation in solving issues of restoring the tourism industry in the post-pandemic period.

The main wealth of the library is books. One of the sources of replenishment of the Library's book fund is donation. Recently, a wonderful gift to the Library of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism was made by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of Tourism and Sports, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism A.Abdukhakimov.

Handing over books as a gift to the library, Aziz Abdukakharovich stressed that reading books is a driving factor in the development of personal growth. Since his studies, A. Abdukhakimov pays attention to reading, visiting a particular country on a working visit, the Minister of Tourism and Sports always tries to find free time in his schedule, and look into bookstores around the world.

“Each book was selected by me personally, I tried to bring modern, relevant literature from countries such as Japan and Italy. In the future, I promise to continue to replenish the Library fund, since the book is the main source of knowledge for University students”, told A. Abdukhakimov while handing over the books.

The books provided contain the latest research information in the field of museology, history, art and culture.

The Administration of the University expresses its sincere gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan-Minister of Tourism and Sports, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism A. Abdukhakimov for a generous gift. We are sure that the donated books will not only take their place on the bookshelves, but will also find their readers.

On September 27 of this year, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism hosted an event dedicated to the celebration of the World Tourism Day, the theme of which was: “Opening a window into the world of tourism and spirituality”.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Tourism and Sports, Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism A. Abdukhakimov delivered a congratulatory speech.

 Adviser to the Rector of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism A.Ospanova also made a speech.

D.Razi prepared a presentation: “Uzbekistan: the third Renaissance and tourism”, after which he willingly answered all the questions.

At the end of the event, the guests were expected to take a tour of the Laboratories for the training of qualified personnel, where a master class was held for tourism workers taking into account the latest trends in the tourism sector.

Also, was organized a tour of the University campus for the guests where a special attention was given to the ultra-modern Library.

For reference: World Tourism Day, established by the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization in 1979, is celebrated annually on September 27. The World Tourism Day is held to promote tourism, highlight its contribution to the development of cultural ties, and ensure mutual understanding between peoples. Every year, the WTO General Assembly proclaims the motto of the Tourism Day. This year, on the recommendation of the UNWTO, the celebrations will be held under the motto “Tourism for inclusive growth”.

Uzbekistan occupies one of the leading places in the world in terms of its tourist potential. Such successes achieved in the sphere are the result of comprehensive work on the further development of the tourist infrastructure in the country. The annual Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road”, held under the auspices of the WTO, plays a significant role in shaping and maintaining the image of Uzbekistan on the world market.

On September 24 of this year, the delegation of the Lviv Region (Ukraine) met with representatives of the tourism industry of the Samarkand region at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

During the meeting were discussed issues of mutual cooperation to attract tourists, as well as issues of further development and maintenance of friendly relations. At the meeting, the parties revealed the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and Ukraine, and got acquainted with further plans for the development of the tourism industry.

Following the results of successful negotiations, it was noted that this event will entail a wide flow of tourists from Lviv to Samarkand.

At the end of the meeting, the University Administration conducted a tour of the new University’s Campus for foreign guests, where the delegation representatives got acquainted with the history of the University’s creation and the latest modern technologies used in the educational process.

Documents of applicants for doctoral studies (PhD) are accepted from September 25 to October 15, 2021

To enter for the basic doctorate (PhD) program applicants should submit the following documents to the Research department of the University and have to fill online registration form through the web-site http://phd.mininnovation.uz/:

• Statement (Application);
• CV;
• a copy of the work book, certified in accordance with the established procedure (for working candidates);
• a copy of the Master’s degree or a diploma of higher education with transcripts;
• list of published scientific works, as well as their copies;
• Holders of the State Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (a present copy of the relevant document);
• a copy of passport;
• 4 pieces of 3х4 photo;
• the approximate theme of their dissertation and its abstract.

Applicants will be tested on specialty subject and foreign language (previously learned language) in exam. Applicants will not take an exam by foreign language if they have valid International Foreign Language Certificates: IELTS (minimum 5,5 on average), TOEFL (iBT) (minimum 87 score), CEFR (minimum B2).

Exams to enter basic doctorate program will be hold from 1 to 25 November, 2021.

 From July 19 to 25, 2021, were held online courses “Certified Hospitality Educator” where teachers of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism participated. At the end of the course the exam was successfully passed, according to the results of which S.Jumanazarov, M.Vafokulova, A.Suyunov, S.Shaidullayeva, Zh.Khamorkulov, A.Sobirov and U.Gulyamov were awarded certificates included in the International Database (AHLEI). This certificate allows its holders to teach in the field of Hospitality in any higher educational institution in the world.

For reference: The American Educational Institute in the field of Hotel Business (The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) - for more than 65 years has been a world leader in the field of training and certification of specialists in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. The headquarter of the association is located in Orlando, Florida, USA. The company's offices are also located in Lansing, Michigan, as well as in India and China. The company's wide range of products includes DVD materials, textbooks (printed and digital), as well as online learning systems.

The delegation of the world-famous hotel chain “Minyoun Hospitality” (China) visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the University for the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of tourism.

During the meeting, within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the University and the hotel chain “Minyoun Hospitality”, was discussed in detail the possibility of creating a Training Center on the basis of the University for the exchange of experience between specialists in the restaurant and hotel sector, in order to train highly qualified personnel.

Having visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism the guests highly appreciated the opportunities created for the University students and wished them further success in their studies.
