On 28 July, 2021, Professor, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the University of Lahore (Pakistan), Honorary Consul of the Republic of Uganda, Mr. Awais Raoof visited  the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

  During the meeting the International Adviser to the Rector of the University A. K. Ospanova noted the readiness to develop bilateral relations with the Pakistan University and outlined the prospects for joint work and the range of priority tasks. During the meeting were discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the development of academic exchange programs for students as well as the joint opening of university programs.

   The delegation headed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University A.Raoof highly appreciated the achievements of development of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

“The University of Lahore expresses confidence that through joint efforts we will be able to create the necessary conditions for effective work in the implementation of joint scientific programs, since the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism occupies a key link in the development of the tourism industry in Central Asia”, noted Professor Awais Raoof.

At the end of the visit the ultramodern Library of the University was introduced to the guests. They also promised to present lots of books on scientific literature in the near future.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

Dear students! In order to increase the legal awareness and legal culture on electoral legislation and the electoral process in the Republic of Uzbekistan, to deepen the knowledge of young people about elections and to widely disseminate this knowledge among students. We would like to inform you that the competition “The best scientific work on the electoral legislation and the rights and obligations of participants in the electoral process” has been announced.

Scientific works will be accepted in Uzbek, Russian and English.

Requirements for submission of scientific articles to the competition are as follows:

- Scientific article should be 14 fonts (Times New Roman), 1 space, 2 cm border at the top, bottom, left and right of the page and should be contain total 5-6 pages;

- At the top right of the page is placed ЎУК/УДК;

- The topic of the scientific article is presented in Uzbek, Russian and English languages. The next line of the scientific article indicates the author's name and surname (materials are accepted as an individual authorship), the name of the higher education institution, stage of education (bachelor / master), course of study, e-mail address, telephone number;

- After them there must be summary of the scientific article (annotation) (in Uzbek, Russian, English; 4-5 lines), followed by keywords (in Uzbek, Russian, English; 6-10);

- The article should consist of an introduction, main part, conclusion, list of references (in alphabetical order) and numbered in the order indicated in the list of references in the text, also must be in square brackets.

The competition will be held in two stages: Stage 1 will be organized at the university and the works of the participants are examined. After this, selected works will be submitted along with a letter of recommendation and review from the university to a working group formed by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education for Stage 2.

The scientific works submitted to the competition’s second stage will be examined in 3 nominations:

1. "The best on electoral legislation";

2. "The best on the history of elections";

3. "The best on the electoral process."

The winners of the competition in each nomination (total 9) will be rewarded with 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree diplomas, a collection of published their scientific works and other presents in the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of the media.

On July 18, 2021, was held an official awarding ceremony for the first graduates-Masters of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

Master's degrees in tourism were awarded to 21 graduates who studied for two years in programs that operate within the framework of 3 areas of education in the field of tourism: (Management (International Hospitality and Tourism Management), Management (Tourism, Hotel & Event Management), and Tourism Economics and Management).

Graduation to the graduates was handed  by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of tourism and sports, the rector of the “Silk road”  International University of tourism Mr. Abduxakimov A. A..

In this ceremony took part Deputy khokim of Samarkand region for the development of tourism Botirjon Nurullayev and foreign guests.

The program of the solemn event included not only the official ceremony of awarding diplomas to undergraduates, but also the response of graduates in an original form.

We should immediately note that in the conditions of the next wave of the spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the awarding of diplomas was organized in compliance with all necessary sanitary measures, including a mask regime and social distancing.

   On July 17 of this year participants of the International Conference “Central and South Asia: Regional Interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”, held on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 15-16 in Tashkent, during an official visit to Samarkand visited the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

    The guests visited the university building, which has the status of a “smart campus”, equipped according to the standards of the most prestigious higher educational institutions in the world. Special attention was paid to the educational and production complex, which includes hotel rooms, a bar-restaurant, a conference hall for 250 people equipped with advanced technologies, a university canteen made in the style of a cafeteria, a universal sports hall, a swimming pool, as well as an ultramodern Library decorated in a modern design and acting as a full-fledged high-tech center of tourist knowledge.

   During the visit, the guests met with the teaching staff of the university, where teachers and students demonstrated practical developments of creating projects in the field of tourism.

   On July 15  2021, the III Review of the Environmental Performance of the Republic of Uzbekistan was presented at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

   The event was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sport A. A. Abdukhakimov together with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe Mrs. O. A. Algaerova, international experts, as well as heads of ministries and departments.

  The Environmental Performance Review organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (Environmental Performance Review — EPR) reflects the processes of evaluating the achievements made by a country in improving environmental policy.

  The EPR is conducted under the auspices of the Committee on Environmental Policy of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.

  The purpose of the EPR is the interstate receipt of an external independent, impartial assessment of the state of the environment, nature protection, pollution reduction, and natural resource management. At the same time, the EPR evaluates the progress made by Governments in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development, in particular, for the sustainable development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, consisting of 17 chapters, 539 pages containing an assessment, conclusion and recommendations in accordance with the EPR of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  For reference: the processes of assessing achievements in improving environmental performance in our country were first conducted in Uzbekistan in 2001, the second time in 2009.

  The III Review of Environmental Performance in the Republic of Uzbekistan was launched in October 2018. International experts visited from February 23 to March 7, 2019 to prepare the outlined review.

The Review of the effectiveness of environmental activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan highlights the regulatory and strategic framework, the financing of environmental protection measures, the introduction of the principles of a “green " economy, the protection of atmospheric air, water resources management, adaptation to the effects of climate change, the conservation of biodiversity and important issues related to household waste for the country.

On June 30 of this year, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Minister of Tourism and Sport A. A. Abdukhakimov awarded the head of the Department for Work with Youth of the University S. F. Khaydarov with a certificate of appreciation for active public activity and contribution to the development of tourism and sports.

It is worth noting that a number of practical projects, intellectual competitions, meetings, business marathons, sports competitions and gala concerts were held within the framework of the events called "Youth Month".
