Today, on June 15, 2021, at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism was held a fan meeting with the most famous bloggers, directors, actors and producers of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azim Saidbayev and Meyirkhan Sherniyazov.

At this meeting, the bloggers told the story of their success. And also openly answered all the questions of video blogging that interested students.

It is worth noting that this meeting had a positive impact on the comprehensive development of young people in the era of rapid development of video blogging.

Within the framework of the “Samarkand Youth Festival 2021”, the territory of the “Silk Road” University of Tourism hosted a regional Enlish language olympiad among pupils of grades 10-11, a swimming and a public speaking competitions. Also, students of the “Silk Road” University took an active part in the following competitions held at the main universities of Samarkand: swimming, ping-pong, arm wrestling, chess and football. At the end of the day, all participants of the events were awarded with certificates. The winners were awarded with memorable gifts.

Rector of the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje (Macedonia) prof. Ace Milenkovsky paid a working visit to “Silk Road” the International University of Tourism.

During this visit, Ace Melenkovsky met with the faculty of the University, held a guest lecture for students, and got acquainted with the unique University Library.

One of the main goals of the visit was to create conditions for the development of bilateral cooperation and academic exchange between Uzbekistan and Macedonia.

Earlier, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje signed a Memorandum on the opening of “International Specialized Tourism” joint bachelor’s degree program.

From June 11 to 13, a Youth Festival will be held in Samarkand under the motto “Youth of the New Uzbekistan, let’s unite!”.

Today, on June 11, the Samarkand Youth Festival has started. Students of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism took an active part in the festive march of Samarkand youth from Registan Square, along the University Boulevard to the monument of Amir Temur. Also, more than a thousand young people interested in sports took part in the bike marathon held as part of the festival. The route of the bike marathon was laid from Registan Square, along the Shahi Zinda complex to Abu Ali ibn Sino Street and ended again at the main square of the city.

It is worth noting that on June 12 of this year, the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, within the framework of the festival, is expected to hold exciting competitions, sports competitions and other interesting events.

With the support of the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, the University Library has been replenished with a huge number of editions of rare books.

The largest cultural and historical museum of Russia “Hermitage” sent a series of books as a gift to improve the education of students in the field of cultural heritage. The collection contains a huge number of original, unique illustrations that scientists from all over the World have worked on. In particular, the collection includes rich literature from the era of the Great Silk Road.

All donated books are available in both printed and electronic versions.

The famous Louvre Museum (France) has expanded the collection of Asian literature with leading books in the field of culture and art, museology and the organization of exhibitions.

At the moment, the library fund of the university has more than 12 thousand printed books. The entire library is equipped with modern equipment, a language lab, in which students are provided with all the necessary electronic materials.

We would like to inform you that “The Journal of Silk Road Tourism Studies”, a scientific e-journal of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, has started accepting articles. The Journal was registered on January 14, 2021 by the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The main requirements for scientific articles submitted to our journal are based on world standards and the standards of the PhD research system in Uzbekistan. Submission of articles to the journal and other conditions are described in detail on the journal's website undefined . Those who wish to submit an article to the new issue of the journal can submit the materials, as required by July 1 2021.
The topic of the scientific article submitted by the author should correspond to one of the directions listed in the "Journal Scope" section of the scientific electronic journal. The journal is prepared in English, 4 times a year on the official website of the university through the official domain of the journal.

On May 4, 2021, the official visit of the members of the “Bulgaria-Uzbekistan” friendship society - PhD of Economics, professor of the Department of Strategic Planning and Public Administration of the Dimitar A. Tsenov Academy of Economics (Svishtov, Bulgaria) Borislav Dimitrov Borisov, as well as PhD of Economics, Professor of the International Higher School of Business (Sofia) Borisova Lalka Gerasimova took place at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

During the visit, the specialists held guest lectures for the University students, which demonstrated the tourism potential of the Republic of Bulgaria, they noted the main trends in the development of friendly and cultural and educational ties between Uzbekistan and Bulgaria.

During the seminar, the students’ ideas and suggestions on promoting the tourism brand of Uzbekistan and mutual cooperation between the two countries were listened to and discussed.

At the end of the visit program, the distinguished guests were given a tour of the university’s smart campus.

2nd year student Amonillaev Abulkosim took part in the Republican online Olympiad and took 2nd place in the subject of “Tourism”.

While studying, Abulkosim takes an active part in all events held at the university and he is also a member of the Tourism Lab. In particular in the first year under the guidance of teacher Akramova T.K. he took part in the Start-up projects “Tourism in Nature”, “Health Tourism”, “Adventure Tourism”, “Eco Tourism are suitable in Octosh”.

Also, in March of this year, he took the honorable 3rd place in the contest “The most beautiful speech” in Uzbek language.

The administration of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism congratulates Amonillayev Abulkosim and wishes him success in his studies and future endeavors.

On June 1 2021, The First practical seminar for hotel managers was organized by the Association of Hoteliers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the basis of the International University of Tourism “Silk Road” with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of this event is to improve the quality of service in the accommodation facilities, the use of the right chemicals in hotels, as well as the introduction of an automated booking system.

The event was attended by the international booking system “TravelLine” and a representative of the American brand of professional household chemicals “Ecolab”.

It is worth noting that in 2021 the tourism industry faces many challenges: increasing the tourist flow to the country, including in the off-season, attracting private investment in the industry, building new hotels, recreation areas, training staff, and introducing advanced digital technologies into business processes. Developing responses to these challenges with the involvement of all stakeholders will allow us to set the right vector for large-scale and qualitative changes in the industry and unite the professional community.

Also, within the framework of this event a new Department “University 4.0” was presented on the basis of the university whose task is to organize the infrastructure for the creation and commercialization of knowledge as well as to assist in the rebranding and proper promotion of hotels and restaurants.

The event became a platform for discussing current trends in the field of hospitality, bringing together leading international experts as well as hoteliers from all over the Samarkand region.
