In order to attract to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism comprehensively gifted applicants who speak foreign languages, who want to get an education in a modern and international standards-compliant Smart-campus of the University, as well as in order to promote the unique educational process, it’s planned to hold special events in different regions of Uzbekistan within the framework of the festival “Silk Road Admission Fest”.

According to the official letter of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 19, 2021 No. 03-16/1456, in the period from May 24 to June 24, the delegation of the “Silk Road” University prepared a schedule of visits to the regions within the framework of the “Silk Road Admission Fest” events.

The events started from the city of Nukus. The Main Department for Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Karakalpakstan provided practical assistance in the implementation of this event. The festival coincided with the celebration of the school festivities of the “Last Bell”, the event attracted the attention of a large number of graduates of schools of Nukus. Were held various competitions and active participants were presented with memorable gifts with the brand of our university. The program of events was also held in the city of Khiva in Ichan-Kala.

According to the schedule the next destination will be Navoi city.

On May 26 this year, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan Sayyid Ali Asad Gilani, paid an official visit to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

During the visit the parties discussed a number of issues related to the implementation of joint projects in the field of tourism. Thus, the Embassy expressed its readiness to organize partnership relations with various universities of Pakistan and major world-class travel companies for the "Silk Road" University. During the meeting Mr. Seyid Ali Asad Gilani was introduced to the unique smart campus and the innovative library of our University.

Despite the busy schedule, Mr. Sayyid Gilani took the time to conduct a lecture in order to familiarize the staff and students of the Silk Road University with the tourism potential of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Following the results of the negotiations, the administration of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the Republic of Uzbekistan came to a consensus on the intensification of joint activities in the field of tourism and education.

Today, in all schools of Uzbekistan, the last bells were ringing in a solemn atmosphere. Pupils of the 11th grade of secondary schools get a ticket to a big life.

In order to properly celebrate this significant day in the life of students, the university faculty and staff, along with other representatives of higher educational institutions of the city, visited the secondary school No. 53, located in the mahalla “Konigil” of the Samarkand district of the Samarkand region. In this school, with the direct participation of the faculty and staff of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism, events were organized as part of the “Last Bell”.

Representatives of the University wished the graduates of the school success in their new endeavors, to grow as competitive personnel for the benefit of our country. In addition, there was held a presentation of the university’s activities and areas of education.

During the conversation with the graduates, representatives provided information about the advantages of admission to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism.

On May 20, 2021 a meeting was held with the Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr. Jakhongir Ganiev as part of the official visit of the International Adviser to the Rector Aliya Kalkamanovna Ospanova to the Kingdom of Spain.

During the meeting the Embassy highlighted its readiness to support initiatives in the field of tourism and cultural heritage development, as well as to organize cooperation with Spanish Universities.

The ambassador handed over a rich collection of unique books about the history of the emergence and development of the Great Silk Road, untold stories of the Spanish ambassador to the court of Amir Temur - Rui Gonzalez de Clavijo and other valuable books by famous Spanish authors.

A scientific report of the First Vice-rector of our university, prof. Juliboy Eltazarov on the topic “Oguz dialects of Khorezm and Southern Kazakhstan” was published on the website of the project “Turkic languages with the threat of extinction” under the heading “Scientists studying endangered languages and dialects – 2021”.

 INFORMATION LETTER

    "Silk Road" International University of Tourism invites you to participate in the international online conference (in the format of video conferencing based on the Internet platform; identification number and password will be announced), which will be held on June 11, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. This conference is organized in collaboration with Beijing International Studies University.  The topic of the conference will be "Agrotourism, Ecotourism and Sustainable Tourism: Theory, Practice, Problems and Solutions".
    The main purpose of the international conference is to discuss scientific and practical issues with the participation of international and national scholars and international experts on the development of agritourism, ecotourism and sustainable tourism in Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the purpose includes to develop recommendations on the topic of the conference, to determine the areas of research, to provide practical recommendations to government agencies and relevant organizations on the development of agritourism, ecotourism and sustainable tourism.
    The conference is open to foreign and local scholars, university professors, practitioners, research institutes, doctoral and independent researchers, master and bachelor students with their articles and theses.

    The language of the international conference will be English.

    The main sections of the international conference:

• Theoretical issues of rural (agrotourism) tourism development;
•  International experience in the development of agritourism; 
• Analysis of the current trends of agro-tourism, ecotourism and sustainable tourism and prospects for their development in Uzbekistan; 
• Technologies for the formation and promotion of tourism products in the field of agritourism and ecotourism;
•  Marketing and management in agrotourism, ecotourism and sustainable tourism.

   Forms of participation in the online conference:

  • Plenary session report;
  • Video / audio presentation;
  • Participate in discussions.

   Requirements for acceptance of articles and theses:

    1) The content of the scientific article should be as follows:
      a) research actuality and relevance to existing problems in the field;
      b) solutions to the problems;
      c) science-based suggestions and recommendations;
      d) expected economic and social impact.

   2) Scientific articles and theses must be carefully edited and comply with all technical requirements of the formulation, including:
  - text editor - writing in MS Word format;
  - page - A4 size, in book form, 20 mm on all sides;
  - font - Times New Roman, size (Kegel) - 14;
  - line spacing and paragraph spacing - 1.5;
  - The volume of the scientific article and thesis should not exceed a minimum of 5 pages and a maximum of 8 pages;
  - Submitted papers should be original with high-quality and unpublished results of conceptual, experimental research on any topic mentioned above. The article should be result of scientific research undertaken by the author;
  - the article has not been submitted to another journal for publication at the same time;
  - the content of the article is well written theoretically and methodologically and corresponds to the theme of the conference;
  - The author's full name, academic degree and title, position, name of the scientific institution and organization should be written in the upper right corner, and the title of the scientific article in the middle (in bold);
  - The number of authors should not exceed three;
  - one author does not submit more than one article;
  - all tables, diagrams and pictures in MS Word format, Times New Roman font, their names should be written at the bottom of the diagrams and pictures, and the names of the tables should be written at the top;
  - all graphs, diagrams in MS Excel format;
  - tables, figures and graphs should indicate sources and references of theirs;
  - the list of references used in the article should be in accordance with the requirements of the APA format: this link
- Links should be placed at the bottom of each page.
  3) The scientific article should be formed in the following structure:
   3.1 Abstract;
   3.2. Introduction;
   3.3. Literature review;
   3.4. Research methodology;
   3.5. Results;
   3.6. Discussion and conclusion;
   3.7. Suggestions and recommendations;
   3.8. List of references.
  4) Scientific articles and abstracts can be submitted in Uzbek, Russian or English.
  5) Those who wish to submit an article to the conference must submit their application form via this link before submitting their scientific articles and theses via this link by June 5, 2021. The article’s research area which related to any conference section should be clearly stated in the application form (Research area of the article). Articles that do not meet the relevant requirements, do not have scientific and practical recommendations, and are submitted after the deadline will not be considered and will not be returned to the authors.
  6) Submitted scientific articles and theses will be examined for compliance with the above requirements, as well as checked with the anti-plagiarism program. The materials which are concluded ineligible by Conference Scientific Committee will not be published and will not be returned to the author. Scientific articles and thesis which are approved will be included in the electronic collection for publication and posted on the official website https://univ-silkroad.uz/en/. Also, the articles which are written in English covered the conference topic in a scientific manner and written in accordance with the rules, will be published in the University's “The Journal of Silk Road Tourism Studies”.
  7) The author is personally responsible for the originality of the article and the reliability of the information contained in it.

May 3, 2021 Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and sports Aziz Abdukhakimov received the famous film director and producer Timur Bekmambetov.

The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the Agency of Cinematography of the Republic of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov and the wife of the Russian filmmaker - Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Nataliya Fishman.

Foreign guests were familiarized with large-scale reforms in the tourism and cinematography of Uzbekistan, in particular on the liberalization of the visa system and the creation of comfortable conditions for the development of tourism business, the sanitary and epidemiological security system “Uzbekistan. Safe travel GUARANTEED”, the Rebate system in the country's film industry, tax and customs preferences granted to the national film industry.

In turn, Timur Bekmambetov praised the transformations in the field of tourism and hospitality, stressing that from the first hours of stay in Uzbekistan, you can feel the results of investments made in the development trend of this industry. He also noted the tolerance and good nature of the Uzbek people and the need to reflect them in films. Timur Bekmambetov suggested organizing a "train of friendship" where all representatives of the arts could unite.

The parties exchanged views in detail on the prospects for the development of cinema tourism in Uzbekistan. The rich historical and cultural heritage of the country was especially noted, which makes it possible to produce films, TV series and other types of film products: the travels of Marco Polo or Gonzalez de Clavijo to Central Asia. And also dwell on the life and work of great scientists such as Abu Raikhan Beruni, Abu Ali ibn Sina, Mirzo Ulugbek.

Tell and show the rich history of the region through the fates of historical persons - Temirlan, Manguberdi, dwell on significant moments in history - the Kushan Empire, the legendary Alexandria of Oxiana and events during the life of A. Macedon in our region. Do not disregard folk characters such as Khoja Nasreddin.

Taking into account the high potential of the republic, the presence of unique images, stories and natural film locations, the guest proposed a number of initiatives that will help attract large foreign film companies to the country.
