Earlier, we reported that from October 12 to 13, 2020, the new campus of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism will host the Orientation Days event for first-year students, the theme of which is "New steps to the future". During this event, employees and teachers of the “Silk Road” University, as well as senior students, will meet newcomers, talk in detail about University life, actively answering numerous questions. In general, do everything possible to make freshmen feel comfortable and positive!

Today, October 12, the doors of the University opened for first-year students and the opening ceremony was held in the conference hall of the University. Introduction speech by Odil Boynazarov and Holida Doukaeva was the start of "Orientation Days 2020". The speech by First Vice-rector of the University Prof. Zhuliboy Danabayevich Eltazarov, where he stressed that Studentship is a time of daily discoveries, acquisition of new knowledge, professional development, and strengthening of life positions. This is not only an educational activity, but also a lot of interesting events that allow you to express yourself in the social, scientific, and cultural life of the University.

In addition, a speeches were made by: Dean of the faculty of tourism management, Prof. Slawomir Wroblewski, the head of the Research Department, Dr. Farkhod Abdurakhmonov, as well as the head of the Department of "Special and Professional Sciences" Prof. Ian Patterson.

First-year students (Esanova Gulnoza, Yana Zakharova and Bekzod Shamuradov), who scored the highest points when entering the University, presented a presentation “Why I choose the Tourism University?”. At the end of the presentation, they were awarded with memorable gifts and certificates.

For a more detailed introduction to the new University campus, the team of advisors organized exciting excursions. According to the compiled route, first-year students were presented by the teachers of the departments with exhibition expositions aimed at getting acquainted with various aspects of the activity.

Congratulations of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Mr. Yoshinori Fujiyama

On October 8, 2020 at the Customs Institute of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, was held online scientific and practical round table on the topic "Prospects for Economic Cooperation in Central Asia”. Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Management of the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism Samiev Sirozh took an active part in this online conference with a report on the topic: “Prospects for increasing the tourism potential of Uzbekistan with the countries of Central Asia”.

This event was held to analyze the current situation in economic cooperation in Central Asia, assess its integration potential and study development prospects. The online scientific and practical conference was devoted to the prospects for tourism development in the current pandemic, creating opportunities for free travel and the safety of citizens, expanding tourist flows and improving the safety of traditional tourist sites. The plans were reviewed and discussed to improve the infrastructure of roads connecting Central Asia in order to develop tourism, hold international youth forums, enhance economic integration, and the role of joint tourism.

Note that at the jubilee 75th session of the UN General Assembly on September 22, 2020, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.Mirziyoyev raised issues of Central Asian cooperation, major changes in the region, the creation of good-neighborly relations and mutual trust between states in the region. It was noted that the volume of bilateral trade is growing, the country is developing economic reforms, poverty reduction, the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of new jobs are observed, the investment and business environment and modern infrastructure are improving, etc.

Administration of the “Silk Road" International University of Tourism, represented by the First Vice-rector Eltazarov J.D., the Chairman of the Council of women Abbasova M.S. and the Deputy Dean of Youth Affairs Khaydarov S.F. congratulated the freshman Saidova Sadokat Bahriddinovna enrolled in the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism in the direction of "Marketing in tourism", distinguished the highest number of points for admission. The student was awarded with memorable gifts and a certificate.

This action was carried out in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from March 2, 2020 No. 5953 "On the State program of realization of Strategy of actions in five priority directions of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the years 2017-2021" and also in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 402 dated June 23, 2020 adopted in order to create more opportunities for girls and women in higher education.

The pandemic which has been going on for several months, has destroyed all our plans. However, even in such difficult moments there were no failures in the education system. Based on the conditions of the pandemic the «Silk Road» International University of Tourism managed to organize a correct and effective educational process.

On October 6 of this year, the new 2020-2021 academic year was launched. On this day, online classes for 2nd and 3rd year students of the University started. After a long summer vacation, students with renewed energy and enthusiasm began to gnaw the granite of science. Highly qualified specialists who have studied at prestigious foreign universities will share their deep and extensive knowledge and experience. The training process will be carried out on the Microsoft Teams platform.

In the new academic year, we wish our esteemed teachers inexhaustible strength, energy, patience, and students success and achievement in their studies!
